Anal glands, or anal sacs, are scent glands located on both sides of a dog's rectum. Normally, when dogs poop, it expresses their glands naturally, releasing anal gland fluid. Dogs may also involuntarily express their own anal glands when they are scared or stressed. If the ducts that carry the anal sac material from the gland to the outside become blocked or inflamed and can no longer drain themselves, the anal glands need to be expressed or emptied.

For oversized pet, prices are charged differently. All grooming does not include de-matting or cutting of knots. For optimal spa effectiveness, dogs should receive a bath before the spa treatment. Bathing removes debris from the skin and fur, opens up the pores, and allows the spa's benefits to penetrate the skin and fur more effectively. If the spa is the sole service, a "Just-A-Bath" must be added as a prerequisite.
